The FDCI has federally insured the deposits to banks of up to $100,000 for quite some time now. Considering the financial turmoil the agency has asked congress to give a emergency power to hike the insurance for deposits. The idea around this decision is in hopes to increase the confidence in the financial system for all investors.

The Chinese Government has been caught red handed again. It seems to be more and more frequent that these scandals involve cheaper means of production through harmful chemicals. This week, milk used in baby formulas has been found to be watered down with substitution of a chemical called 'melamine' which supposedly enhances the appearance of overall proteins and nutrition of the food.
